You whip your flashlight as hard as you can at the monster's face. The brilliant light blinds the monster that was previously awaiting the opportunity to messily devour you. It scampers off whimpering like a little puppy.

You can now see that you are in a cave of some sort. It's not a very large cave, and the only exit seems to be the path that the monster just scampered down.
