Explode

The energies promptly reach criticality and erupt, destroying everything within a 5 mile radius of your location. Johnny's summoned form is vaporized and he is sent back from whence he was summoned. Mission accomplished!

Some time later you regain consciousness. This comes as something of a surprise. After some quick calculations you confirm that you were definitely within five miles of your location before the explosion, so by all rights you should have been destroyed as well.

This required further explanation. You fish around in your inventories until you pull out a small silver and gold emblem. You affix it to your chest and then give it a little tap. It chirps, then you say out loud "Adventurer to LaForge."

There's a brief pause, then a voice says, "LaForge Here... Who is this?" It sounds like the voice of someone who would be really good at reading stories to children.

"The Adventurer, Geordi," you explain, "You know. The Incredibly Strange Adventurer Who Never Stops Living and Hunts Mixed-Up Errors."

"Is that like, a Light Novel title or something?" asks Geordi LaForge.

"No. Listen. I don't have time to go over all that with you," you lie, "I need your help to come up with a reason for why something happened."

There's a long, judgemental pause.

"A Technobabble reason?" you add hopefully.

"Okay," Geordi LaForge concedes at last, "Shoot."

You give Geordi a rundown of what happened. The energy feedback loop, the explosion, your continued existence. You omit the parts about being able to summon a British man at will and then chopping off his arms and him liquefying your brains (Hey, what happened to that as well? Might have to call Crusher next). Once you finish, there's another pause, this time a thoughtful one.

"Usually when this sort of thing happens," Geordi says, "We decide the explosion must have ripped a hole in space-time that you fell through."

"Can explosions do that?" you ask.

"Not really," Geordi admits, "At least, not in a way we can reliably replicate. It could also be that somebody transported you away right before the explosion. Or maybe you developed godlike powers and teleported yourself away? Developing godlike powers was really big a generation ago."

You scratch your chin thoughtfully. "Thanks, Geordi, this has been a great help. Adventurer out."

As you think about these recent developments, you realize you haven't spent any time investigating your current location. You could have been standing on a transporter pad this whole time, which would have neatly explained your current predicament.

Before you can do so, a chicken flutters down from out of frame and lands on your head. "Bok Bok," it says cryptically.
