Jump across the canyon!
You gather your strength for a powerful leap. You charge to the edge of the canyon and jump across at full speed. When you are about a quarter of the way across, you see another person jumping across the other way, toward you.
Hey, they look just like you, too. Same travel-stained robes. Same wide hat that shadows their face. Same error-slaying sword at their hip. Same terrified look in their eyes moments before collision.
At exactly halfway across the canyon you slam into the giant mirror and tumble to earth amid shards of glass.
